RISE ACADEMY

This conceptual design is for a P3 Charter School located in Palm Beach County. The focus of RISE Academy is science and technology. The design intent for the project is a thoroughly contemporary learning environment filled with innovative and sustainable elements. 

 

Claren Architecture developed this tuition-free 90,000 SF K-12 public charter school housing 1,500 students. Among other elements, this two-story facility includes a classroom building, gym, multi-purpose play field, nature preserve with fitness trails, vegetable gardens and covered outdoor spaces. Some of the sustainable design elements include the introduction of natural light for all learning spaces, solar roof panels, rainwater collection cisterns and wind turbines.  The efficient design of the school is sensitive to the scale and context of the neighborhood, and maximizes open space with a sheltering central courtyard for student gathering.
